Over the course of a 162-game MLB regular season, managers make countless decisions that impact the trajectory of their ball club. As the season goes on, more people analyze and criticize the decisions made by managers, so it is only right the top manager in each league gets some recognition through the Manager of the Year Award.
Plenty of movement can happen in this futures market throughout the season as narratives and streaks will run their course for every team. Down below, we’re tracking the Manager of the Year odds for both the AL and NL across the top sportsbooks in New Jersey.

Stephen Vogt (Cleveland Guardians): Vogt has long been identified as a player who would make a great manager, and so far, he is living up to that reputation. In his first season at the helm with the Guardians, the former catcher took his team into the All-Star break with a 4.5-game lead in the AL Central. While the Guardians are playing a gauntlet of a second-half schedule, Vogt still has his team in control of the division, and he's got them there without a consistent starting rotation.
Matt Quatraro (Kansas City Royals): In his second season as the Royals' manager, Quatraro's team tied the best record in club history through 50 games. Kansas City has been in rebuild mode since their run of postseason appearances, but with Bobby Witt Jr. leading the charge, KC is just holding on to the final AL Wild Card spot. Being able to help a rebuilding team get back into the playoff picture is a big piece of the narrative aspect that goes into this award, so Quatraro should be around the top of the odds board for the rest of the season.
Alex Cora (Boston Red Sox): The Red Sox did not come into the season with high expectations, but as we start to get deeper into August, Cora has his team sitting .5 game back of the final AL Wild Card spot. While this may be one of the least talented Red Sox teams we've seen in years, Cora has his team battling on a nightly basis, which may help them stay in the postseason race until the end of the season.

Pat Murphy | +1200 | -550 |

Rob Thomson | +900 | +2500 |
Carlos Mendoza | +1200 | +2500 |

Pat Murphy (Milwaukee Brewers): The Brewers lost their manager to a divisional rival this offseason, but Murphy has not allowed his club to fade because of that. Murphy's club is currently sitting in first place in the NL Central with a 6-game lead and is currently ranked 9th in average runs per game with 4.77 and 5th in average runs allowed per game at 3.97.
Mike Shildt (San Diego Padres): In his first season at the helm with the Padres, Shildt has his team in a good position in the NL Wild Card race. After a slower start to the season, the Padres have seemingly started to click, which even has them sitting just three games behind the Dodgers in the division, which did not seem possible during the first few months.
Rob Thomson (Philadelphia Phillies): Since taking over for Joe Girardi a few years back, Thomson has led the Phillies deep into the postseason twice, and it looks as if he can do it a third time this season. Philadelphia is sitting in first place in the NL East, and with the pitching staff Thomson has, it will be tough to knock them out of that position. While Murphy may have the slight edge for the award due to the narrative of this being his first season, if Thomson's club can snap their losing slide and heat up again to secure the best record in baseball, then he could make this a tough decision for voters.
