Home runs are a big part of what drives people to baseball, and there are certainly quite a few guys in the MLB who know a lot about them.
Currently, Aaron Judge is favored to lead the league, but his season-long home run drought has opened the door for a guy like Shohei Ohtani to possibly take the crown. Down below, weโll look at home run leader odds for the 2024 season across all the top sportsbooks in Maryland.
Player | Opening odds | |
---|---|---|
Aaron Judge | +350 | -1600 |
Shohei Ohtani | +900 | +800 |
Anthony Santander | +10000 | +6000 |

Aaron Judge (New York Yankees): Judge started the season slow but has since become a heavy favorite to win AL MVP. The Yankees captain has been one of the biggest reasons why the Yankees have remained in the win column, and as we enter the second week of September, he has 51 long balls. The only concern for Judge backers is that he has not left the yard in two weeks and is hitting .178 in that span.
Shohei Ohtani (Los Angeles Dodgers): As it stands right now, Ohtani is second in the league in home runs with 47. In the last month alone, Ohtani has launched ten home runs, including three in the last week, which has him nipping at the heels of Judge with just a few weeks left in the season.
Anthony Santander (Baltimore Orioles): Santander has sneakily become one of the best power hitters in the MLB. Currently, the Orioles slugger has 41 home runs, which is already a new career high. While he will play a massive factor for Baltimore this postseason, the rate at which he's hitting home runs may not be up to the level he needs to stay in this race with Judge and Ohtani.

2018 | Khris Davis | 48 | Oakland A's |

2014 | Nelson Cruz | 40 | Baltimore Orioles |
Elly De La Cruz ran away with the 2024 Stolen Base crown, pun intended. The Reds' young phenom built such a lead in this race that sportsbooks started taking the odds off the board in late July. As it stands right now, De La Cruz has 61 stolen bases, which is 15 more than Shohei Ohtani, who is second on the leaderboard. Outside of them, Brice Turang is the only other player to currently have at least 40 stolen bases, and while that is impressive, it will take a lot for him to dethrone De La Cruz over the next few seasons.
