If there is one thing that is true for every MLB team, they are in for a marathon season. The best teams will go through cold streaks, while the bad teams will go on winning streaks, but at the end of the day, the goal is to reach the World Series.
Before teams reach the Fall Classic, though, they must reach the playoffs. Here, we’ll look at the odds for each team to reach the postseason with prices from all the top sportsbooks, including FanDuel Sportsbook.

The All-Star Game is over, which means the hunt for the playoffs is about to heat up. With the next big event in the MLB being the trade deadline, we are about to see some teams make moves to help them sneak into the postseason while other teams will be gracefully bowing out of the race.
Having control of a division in the first half of the season is great, but it does not mean anything if a team can't finish it out. Multiple divisions will be coming down to the wire in the second half of the season as seeding position starts to come to the forefront of teams' minds down the home stretch.
Especially in the American League, the divisional races will be incredibly exciting, as the first and second-place teams in all three AL divisions are separated by 4.5 games or less. While the Guardians' 4.5-game lead over the Twins is the biggest lead for a first-place team in the AL, that race is far from over, as the Guardians are set to play the toughest schedule in the league over the second half of the season.
Outside of the Milwaukee Brewers, the NL Central remains one of the most unpredictable divisions in all of baseball. Just last week, the Chicago Cubs looked like they would be selling at the trade deadline, but after a sweep over the Orioles, they are right back in business, as they find themselves just three games back of the final NL Wild Card spot.
Right now, in the NL, there are six teams within at least three games of the final Wild Card spot, and three of them are members of the NL Central. Meanwhile, in the AL, the third team back from the final Wild Card spot is the Rays, who are 5.5 games back. This leaves the Royals and Astros as the only teams within legitimate striking distance heading into the All-Star break.
