2024-25 CFP National Championship Odds

A lot can change in an off-season, and that is made pretty clear through the 2024-25 CFP Championship odds. After winning the National Championship last season, the Michigan Wolverines have lost their head coach, quarterback, running back, and multiple other starters to the NFL, which has led to them not even being in the top five on the odds board to win the title this season.

Instead of the Wolverines being favored to repeat, the Georgia Bulldogs are back at the top of the odds board, with Michigan’s rivals, the Ohio State Buckeyes, coming in right behind UGA. These odds likely won’t be shifting much until the season, but you can still stay up-to-date down below on who is favored throughout the season.

Current Favorites

Georgia Bulldogs: Losing to Alabama in the SEC Title game cost the Georgia Bulldogs an opportunity to win their third straight National Championship. While the Bulldogs did lose some big-time contributors on both sides of the ball to the NFL Draft, they will have the current Heisman favorite, Carson Beck, under center.

Like most high-level teams, the Bulldogs lost their fair share of draftees and transfers, but Kirby Smart brought in the number-one recruiting class along with multiple transfers like Trevor Etienne.

Ohio State Buckeyes: By Ohio State’s recent standards, they are coming off a down year, and by that, I mean they lost to Michigan, and after failing to make the CFP, they lost their bowl game. The Buckeyes also lost a few big-name players like Marvin Harrison Jr., but they’ll have the number one receiver from this recent recruiting class to fill in and be a primary target for their new quarterback, Will Howard.

The former Kansas State signal-caller will be stepping into a loaded offense that offensive guru is now running Chip Kelly. If you mix the new Buckeyes offense with their defense that allowed just 11.2 points per game last season, it is hard to imagine they don’t at least find their way back to the College Football Playoff.

Texas Longhorns: Is Texas officially back? That question could be answered this season when the Longhorns play their first full schedule as members of the SEC. The Longhorns fell in the CFP Semi-Finals last season, but they will have their Heisman-hopeful quarterback, Quinn Ewers, back under center.

Ewers may have lost a few weapons to the NFL Draft, but thanks to the transfer portal, he now has three new solid receiving options in Isaiah Bond, Silas Bolden, and Matthew Golden. Defensively, the Longhorns were one of the best run-stopping teams in the country last year, but as we know, the SEC is a different animal.
