One of the most underrated and exciting sporting events is the College World Series, and with the amount of talent around the country this upcoming season, that should remain the case. The Tennessee Volunteers were able to break through and win it all in 2024, and while they will still be talented, they lost a lot of big-name players to the MLB Draft, which opens the door for many other programs.
Once sportsbooks start to release the odds for the 2025 College World Series, we will keep college baseball bettors up to date on all odds movements throughout the season.
Tennessee Volunteers: The Vols had been knocking on the door of a National Championship for a few seasons, and interestingly enough, they were able to do it after losing the best pitcher in the country, Chase Burns, to the transfer portal. With the big win in Ohama, Tony Vitello's team will have an even bigger target on their back this upcoming season, and they'll have to defend their title without Christian Moore, Billy Amick, Blake Burke, Drew Beam, and more.
Texas A&M Aggies: Not only did the Aggies fall short in the National Championship, but they lost their head coach, Jim Schlossnagle, to the University of Texas and their best player, Braden Montgomery, to the draft. While those are two big blows, the Aggies pulled off a miracle and kept their stars from entering the transfer portal by hiring Michael Earley, and even got their ace Ryan Prager to not sign his MLB contract and return to school.
LSU Tigers: Like most seasons, the LSU Tigers lost a lot of talent to the MLB Draft, but at the same time, they attacked the transfer portal, which has them ranked #1 on many college baseball publications' Top 25 rankings for the 2025 season. Not only did LSU grab Daniel Dickinson and Anthony Eyanson from the portal, but they will be returning Jared Jones, Michael Braswell, Steven Milam, and Chase Shores.
