British Open Odds

The 4th and final major of each PGA Tour season comes in the form of the Open Championship or British Open. On July 18th, all of the premier golfers in the world will be teeing off at Royal Troon Golf Club in Scotland. The last time the Open Championship was played at this course was in 2016, so there is a good number of players in this event who have never played the course.

With a lesser-known course and the elements set to play a huge factor, it could be a tough event for players like 2024 U.S. Open winner Bryson DeChambeau. That said, we'll break down the betting odds to win the 2024 British Open across all over-the-top betting apps for golf.

Current Favorites

Scottie Scheffler (+410 to +500): Scheffler has put himself into elite territory this season and does not look to be stopping anytime soon. The #1 player in the world already has six wins this season, including one at the Masters. In total, out of 15 events, Scheffler has finished in the top ten in 13 of them, which sets up for an interesting British Open, where he's finished T21 and T23 in the last two seasons.

Scheffler turned pro in 2018, so he has not had the opportunity to play at the Royal Troon Golf Club in his career. While this could be a challenge since Royal Troon is known for having exceptionally narrow fairways, Scheffler is currently 9th on the tour in driving accuracy percentage and 2nd in fairway proximity.

Rory McIlroy (+700 to +800): Out of the three favorites to win this event, McIlroy is the only one to have actually hoisted the trophy in his career. In total, McIlroy has played in 14 British Opens, and since he won it in 2014, he has only finished outside the top six in just two (2019 & 2021). McIlroy also played in a British Open at Royal Troon back in 2016, where he shot a 67 in the 4th round, which led to a final score of (-4) and a T5 finish.

Xander Schauffele (+1100 to +1400): Schauffele looks to be in solid form heading into the British Open, as he just finished T-15 with a final score of (-12) at the Scottish Open. While he has passed DeChambeau for the third-best odds to win the British Open, his history at the event is not incredibly strong. In six years competing at the event, Schauffele finished T2 in 2018, but he has not finished higher than T15 since then, as he was T17 last year at Royal Liverpool.
