All three of the contests are short-term, but the exciting “Survivor” contest runs as long as the customer can keep winning. Without having to compete against other users and being able to see the products' preset lineups that customers will be competing against, the ability to make big money with DFS gaming has never been easier with a bit of skill.

While the idea of the product is certainly impressive and could become the next big thing in DFS gaming, there are still areas of the app that could use improvement. A sometimes glitchy app and confusing layout can take away from the overall experience of entering different contests and learning more about the gaming model.

Available Sports, Leagues, And Contests

There are three different DFS contests that customers can participate in on the StatHero app that span across a multitude of sports and leagues. Each contest is short-term, but the duration of the “Survivor” contest runs as long as the customer can keep beating the computer-generated lineups.

Each of the contests follows a very similar structure to traditional DFS contests, the only difference being the customer is competing only with the app itself and not with other users. This allows for the potential of bigger payouts since customers only need to worry about beating one team in each of the competitions.

Between the Head to Head, Survivor, and Pick’Em contests, customers can choose to compete in leagues like the NFL, NBA, MLB, NCAAF, NCAAB, MMA, PGA, NHL, and NASCAR. While the overall concept of the app may be slightly different than other traditional DFS apps, it will not take long to grasp the concept of any of these contests.

Head to Head

The Head to Head contest is arguably the most traditional DFS contest offered on the product, but on this app, it favors the user. Instead of drafting a team against other users, customers will see the preset team they are trying to beat while drafting their team. There are no surprises or fantasy gurus with well-thought-out lineups; instead, it is a preset lineup that can be beaten with some skill.

Once viewing the lineup the customer will be competing against, they will draft a team with a traditional fantasy salary to make their picks. The customer can select how much they want to wager on odds of (-150) on each contest, so they will know their payout prior to playing.

Survivor

The entire idea of the Survivor contest is to make this short-term contest into a long one by beating the product each day. In each round, a player will draft four to five players to compete against a computer-generated lineup. The idea is simple once the drafting is over if a player beats the product, then the next day, they draft a new team and keep going until they lose.

Each round a customer wins, the more money will end up with. Throughout a contest entry, a customer cannot reuse a team they have already used, and the duration of the entry will be determined by either losing or the sport the customer decided to compete in.

PickEm

PickEm takes the drafting aspect out of the equation and allows customers to choose between two pre-set lineups to determine which lineup will score more points. Some teams may have bonus points factored in, so the product can handicap each matchup to make it even.

Each team is displayed with the number of points they are projected to score, and the scoring varies depending on which sport a player decides to compete in. If a customer is looking for a bigger payout, they can compete in a “Pick’Em X,” which allows users to choose multiple lineups, but much like a parlay in sports betting, they must win each of the picks.

StatHero Payment And Withdrawal Options

One of the biggest differences between sportsbooks and DFS apps is the number of payment methods offered. DFS products traditionally do not offer a wide variety of payment methods, and while that’s true for the StatHero app as well, customers will still likely be able to find a method that makes the process easy for them. At this point in time, the product’s deposit methods include credit or debit cards from American Express, Discover, Mastercard, and Visa.

All of those methods have a $5 minimum deposit and can be used in all states in which the product is legal. When looking to download the StatHero app, DFS fans can do so from either the App Store or Google Play Store. At this point in time, the app has a 4 out of 5-star rating and over 10,000 downloads on the Google Play Store, and a 4.2 out of 5-star rating on the App Store.

As far as the app itself, customers will experience an occasionally slow and glitchy app that can be frustrating to navigate at times due to the loading times. When the product is running smoothly, it can offer one of the better DFS experiences on the market, but on days when the product is lagging, it can take away from the overall gaming experience.

While the contests are very enjoyable to compete in, the layout of the product itself can be a bit confusing to navigate at first. The contest screens can feel crowded at times, which for first-time DFS users can be overwhelming while they are just trying to get the lay of the land. While we are very high on the product and contests themselves, the app can sometimes take away from those features.

Web Platform

There is a web platform available for StatHero that provides customers with everything they would get on the app while also having multiple sections that thoughtfully explain how to compete in the three different contests.

While it is easy to learn more about the contests, the platform itself is a bit disorganized and can make it difficult to navigate contests or the rules of each contest.
