After joining the market in 2021, the ParlayPlay app has been offering customers in a wide range of states a simple way to enjoy DFS games and put their knowledge to the test. As of right now, the product is legal and operating in AL, AK, AR, CA, CO, DC, FL, GA, IL, KS, KY, MA, MN, NE, NM, NC, ND, OK, OR, RI, SC, SD, TX, UT, WI, WY, and Canada (except Ontario).

Since the product is still fairly fresh on the market and the DFS market, in general, is very crowded, it is still slowly building a reputation and name for itself across the states it is active in. Based on reviews left by DFS users on the App Store and Google Play Store, along with our experience, the product is certainly heading in the right direction and has the foundation of a very successful app.

The simplicity of the app, mixed with the exciting layout and wide range of markets customers can choose from, makes the product jump out right away. Customers who have never used a DFS product before will quickly be able to pick up on the concept of the short-term contests the app offers while also enjoying two generous new customer promotions.

Every product could stand to improve in some fields, though, and while this app features an excellent selection and variety with sports and leagues to play from, they fall exceptionally short in the payment method area. In order to take the next step up in the DFS market, this is an area that will need to be improved upon.

Available Sports, Leagues, And Contests

The ParlayPlay app offers two types of short-term contests that both revolve around making picks. Pick’M has become a commonplace contest mode on DFS apps, and customers can choose if they want to participate in the traditional game mode that requires payment or the free mode.

For customers looking for a big payout, they can play the traditional Pick’M style game where each entry is anywhere between two and seven picks. Customers control what sport they want to choose from and can scroll between players to pick if they will go over or under a statistical category. With the Free2Play mode, customers cannot choose which sport or athlete they want to pick from, as they have to work with the eight options they are given.

In terms of sports and leagues available to choose from, customers can choose between basketball (NBA, WNBA, CBB), baseball (MLB), football (NFL, XFL, CFB), hockey (NHL), MMA, international and local soccer leagues, and multiple e-sports like CS:GO, Valorant & Dota, and LoL.

Pick’M

The traditional DFS game mode operates the same way on this product, as customers can make anywhere between two and seven picks, and the more picks made, the higher the possible payout is. A two-pick entry is a 3x payout, while a seven-pick entry is 75x, with the numbers increasing in between.

Picks can be made on a multitude of stats; for example, right now, a customer could make an entry based on pitcher strikeouts and pitches thrown in a given game.

Free2Play

While customers have to put down money to play, Pick’M, they can enter the Free2Play contest for free on a daily basis. Customers are competing with other customers on the app to see how many picks they can get correctly out of the eight given by the app. The more picks a customer gets right, the more likely they are to make some sort of money in return, with payouts starting for the person who places 50th in the competition.

Since customers don’t make their own selections, they may be asked to make picks on sports they do not know; for example, at the time of writing this, the contest includes the MLB and WNBA.

ParlayPlay Payment And Withdrawal Options

Daily fantasy sports apps are not known for offering a wide array of payment methods, and the ParlayPlay app takes that to the extreme by only offering one payment method and one withdrawal method. Customers looking to make a deposit on the app can use either a debit or credit card, and the maximum amount a customer can deposit in one day is $500. For users located in Massachusetts they can only deposit a maximum of $1,000 per calendar month.

When it comes to withdrawals, the only method available to customers is with ACH. All withdrawals may take 3-5 business days, and all withdrawals are processed back to the original payment method, with the remaining funds being sent via ACH. This is one area of the product that could use an immense amount of updating to make it easier on the customer.

Withdrawals have a minimum amount of $30, and customers must meet a 1x playthrough requirement in order to be eligible to withdraw their winnings, which is fairly common with DFS and sportsbook apps. While no DFS product is overly impressive when it comes to payment methods, this app will need to make improvements in this field to even reach the industry average.

Right now, on the Google Play Store, the product has a 4.5 out of 5-star across 138 reviews, and on the App Store, the product has a 4.7 out of 5-star rating across 1.4k ratings.

The app itself features a bright and exciting background which makes the contests pop off the screen. The design of the app itself also makes getting comfortable with the product and all of its features incredibly easy. Whether a customer is a long-time DFS player or new to the gaming mode, they will be able to quickly adapt and enjoy the product and all that it has to offer.

When it comes to the responsiveness of the app, customers do not need to worry about crashing or worrying about losing their picks, as the product holds up really well no matter how long a customer may spend on it. Outside of being a user-friendly product in general, the stability of the app makes it incredibly well-rounded.

Web Platform

The web platform of ParlayPlay has a very similar feel and design to the app version of the product. Customers can expect the same simple yet exciting background with all of the features one can find on the app itself, except for the ParlayClub page, which is not available in this format yet.

In our time with the website, we were impressed with how smooth and efficient it was. The overall responsiveness of the web platform made the process of playing much more enjoyable since we did not have to worry about freezing or lagging when trying to make picks.
