NHL Best Bets November 15th

After going 1-0 in NHL plays yesterday I’m back today with two more best bets for today’s action. Nine games are scheduled to take place tonight but only two have become the sole focus of my best bets today.

Best Bet #1: New Jersey Devils @ Montreal Canadiens Over 6.5

The New Jersey Devils are playing at an incredibly high level going 9-1 in their last 10 games with the over being 6-3-1 in that span. In their last five games, the Devils have managed to score three or more goals in all five. Jesper Bratt is leading the team with 19 points so he and leading goal scorer Nico Hischier are a big reason for this high-level offensive play.

Despite the win streak and strong offensive play, the Devils have allowed 13 goals in their last five games which, is another reason for taking the over here as the Canadiens have put up 13 goals just in their last three games played. Montreal enters tonight also on a winning streak despite playing in high-scoring affairs as well.

Montreal has gone 3-2 in their last five games and outscored opponents 19 to 17 across those five games. It’s clear both teams are just relying on their high-level scoring output to carry them at the moment, which is totally fine for us over bettors.

The over is 6-2 when the Canadiens play at home so expect that trend to continue. If Jake Allen is in goal tonight for Montreal expect the Devils to be able to take advantage as Allen enters tonight allowing an average of 3.19 goals a game to be scored and has five losses already this season.

Best Bet #2: Detroit Red Wings (-115)

The struggling Detroit Red Wings who are 4-5-0-1 in their last 10 games will head into Anaheim tonight to take on the 4-10-0-1 Ducks. Despite the Red Wings' struggles, I think they are the far superior team and can come away with a win on the road.

Both teams enter tonight on three-game losing streaks and struggle to stop opponents from burying goals all game. Anaheim is dead last in the league in goals allowed so it’s the perfect opportunity for this Red Wings' offense to build some momentum and break out of the cold streak.

The Ducks have allowed 24 goals to be scored so between the Ducks' inability to stop anyone and the return of Tyler Bertuzzi to the Red Wings’ line-up there is no reason why they can’t hang a crooked number tonight in Anaheim. If primary goaltender Ville Husso who has a .920% save percentage this season is in net then the Red Wings should be able to snap their three-game losing streak.
