Week 10 of the NFL season is here and the feeling of excitement that there is an NFL game tonight while also being disappointed in the match-up is back for what feels like the seventh straight Thursday. The (4-5) Atlanta Falcons will head into Carolina tonight to take on the (2-7) Panthers. Atlanta is currently favored by (-2.5) on the road with the point total set at 42, however, there is a lot of value in tonight’s prop bet options with two in specific that really stand out.
The Atlanta Falcons will be without their top two corners Casey Hayward and A.J Terrell tonight due to injury so Carolina quarterback P.J Walker has another opportunity to torch this Atlanta secondary. Walker threw for 317 passing yards just two weeks ago against Atlanta and in the last three weeks wide receiver Terrace Marshall has stepped up big for the Panthers in the WR2 role.
In the last three weeks, Marshall has gone over his receiving yards prop with ease, and with the injuries in the Atlanta secondary, he should be able to make that four games in a row. Due to the injuries, Marshall should be lined up tonight against the Falcons fourth-string cornerback so his targets should be plentiful throughout the game.
In week 8 against the Falcons, Marshall had a season-high 87 receiving yards, and even in last week's blowout loss to the Bengals, he was able to go for 53 yards. Walker seems to trust Marshall as his second read when he can’t find his primary receiver, D.J Moore.
Last week against the Bengals was P.J Walker’s worse game since he took over as the starter as he got benched in the second half for Baker Mayfield. Even though Walker will be starting again tonight if those struggles continue and the Panthers turn to Mayfield again I still think Marshall should have no problem going over this total. Mayfield looked good in relief of Walker last weekend and will certainly come out motivated and willing to push the ball downfield.
This prop total for the Falcons running back has seen some movement and has been moved up to 31.5 yards in some sportsbooks but if you are able to get it at either number it is still a good play. It’s no secret Atlanta wants to run the ball in fact they run the ball the second most in the NFL. Even with the return of primary back Cordarrelle Patterson the Falcons still like to get Allgeier 10 or more carries a game which is more than enough for him to go over his total.
Allgeier is averaging 52.8 rushing yards a game this season and has gone over his rushing total in four out of the six games he has had one listed in sportsbooks. That number would be higher too since he rushed for 99 yards last weekend against the Chargers but did not have a rushing total set for him.
As previously mentioned Atlanta wants to run the ball regardless of who they are playing but this week they’ll be playing a Panthers team who just allowed Joe Mixon to rush for four touchdowns against them. Carolina’s run defense looked completely lost last week and Atlanta and Allgeier should be able to take advantage of that in tonight’s game.
Terrace Marshall Over 35.5 Receiving Yards (-125)
Tyler Allgeier Over 30.5 Rushing Yards (-120)
