NCAAF 2024 Conference Championship Odds | SEC, ACC, Big-10, and Big-12

The SEC has remained the premier conference in college football, and this season, the talent pool gets even deeper, with Texas and Oklahoma joining the mix. As we inch closer to the season, there are currently nine SEC teams on Athlon Sports' preseason Top-25, and once the season starts, that number will surely increase, as teams like Kentucky could surprise people.

Aside from the College Football Playoff, winning the SEC Title game is one of the biggest wins a team can have each season, and here we'll break down the odds of winning the Conference Championship game for the historic Southeastern Conference.

Georgia Bulldogs: After winning back-to-back National Championships, the Georgia Bulldogs failed to make the College Football Playoff last season. While they would also go on to lose a lot of talent to the NFL, the Bulldogs will enter this season with one of the Heisman favorites, Carson Beck, under center.

Beck certainly proved why he's a Heisman favorite in week one, as well, as he led the Bulldogs to a 34-3 win over Clemson. The Bulldogs certainly proved why they are the number one team in the country in week one, but they'll be challenged again in late September when they play Alabama.

Texas Longhorns: Quinn Ewers and the Texas Longhorns are making quite the jump from the Big 12 to the SEC, but on the bright side, they are entering the league in its first season without Nick Saban controlling the Alabama sideline for quite some time. The Longhorns opened their 2024 season with a blowout win, and now they need to go on the road to play the defending champion Michigan Wolverines.

Alabama Crimson Tide: In the first game of the Kalen DeBoer era, the Crimson Tide picked up a blowout win over Western Kentucky. During that game, Jalen Milroe proved he would be picking up where he left off last season, so the real question for Alabama is how they'll play against the top teams in the conference with Nick Saban no longer on the sideline.

While there was extensive debate about it, the ACC did not have a representative in the 2023 College Football Playoff. After losing Jordan Travis to an injury, the selection committee decided Florida State would not receive an invite to the CFP despite still winning the ACC Title game.

Entering the 2024 season, the Seminoles were favored to become repeat champions but after dropping their first two games, the Miami Hurricanes are the new favorites. The Canes look to be in control of the conference with Cam Ward under center, but there are certainly a few teams who could steal the throne from them this season, and we'll break down all of those teams' odds to win the 2024 ACC Championship game.

Miami Hurricanes: The Canes acquired Cam Ward this offseason in the hopes that he would lead the program back to the promised land. While it's early, it looks like that decision could have saved Mario Cristobal's job. Ward led the Canes to a blowout win over the Florida Gators in week one, and as of right now, his toughest remaining test this season will be against Louisville.

Clemson Tigers: Last season, the Clemson Tigers became a non-factor in the ACC for the first time in years. Well, the 2024 season did not get off to a better start, as the Tigers fell 34-3 to the Georgia Bulldogs. While the Bulldogs are the top team in the country, it's clear the Tiger's offense will not be among the country's best this season.

Louisville Cardinals: With FSU dropping their first two games of the season, the Louisville Cardinals have moved into third on the odds board for the conference. The Cardinals played in the ACC Championship game last season, and their defense looks to be as tough this season as it was in 2023. It also helps that they were able to bring in another transfer QB in Tyler Shough, to lead the offense.

College football fans are entering a brand new era of Big Ten football. With multiple big-name programs, including Oregon and USC, coming over from what used to be the Pac-12, this hard-nosed conference will now feature an entirely different style of football.

Over the past few seasons, the Michigan Wolverines have dominated the conference, but with JJ McCarthy and Jim Harbaugh gone, the Ohio State Buckeyes can reclaim the throne. It certainly won't be easy for the Buckeyes, though, with multiple ranked teams joining their schedule, and with that, we'll look at the current betting odds to win the Big Ten Conference Championship game.

Ohio State Buckeyes: The Buckeyes are one of the best teams in the country when it comes to reloading on talent. Well, their new-look roster for 2024 was on full display in week one of the season against Akron, as new quarterback Will Howard threw for 228 yards and three touchdowns, while freshman wideout pulled in 92 yards and two of those touchdowns. The Buckeyes will likely remain the favorite until at least October when their schedule picks up.

Oregon Ducks: In their first season in the Big Ten, the Oregon Ducks will have an experienced quarterback under center in transfer Dillon Gabriel. The transfer quarterback started his Ducks career with an impressive stat line, throwing for 380 yards and two touchdowns on the way to a shockingly narrow win over Idaho. With the rush now knocked off, it will be interesting to see the Ducks as their schedule toughens up over time.

Penn State Nittany Lions: The Nittany Lions have consistently placed themselves on the outside looking into the College Football Playoff, but a big season from quarterback Drew Allar could change that. The gunslinger certainly looked improved in the Nittany Lions season-opening win over West Virginia, throwing for 216 yards and three touchdowns. If Allar can produce similar performances against the big-name programs in the conference, then the Nittany Lions could certainly be in play for a conference championship appearance.

Over the past five seasons, the Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners have won three of the five Conference Championship games. Well, both schools have moved to the SEC, which opens the door for new and old faces to take over.

One of those new teams is the Utah Utes, who are the current betting favorites to win the Big-12 Title game in their first season as conference members. The Big 12 is also the new home for Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes. To find out where they stand in terms of betting odds, you can check out the updated odds below.

Utah Utes: In their first season in the Big 12, the experienced Utes have a chance to take over the conference. With Cam Rising back under center after missing last year, the Utes' offense should have success against Big 12 defenses.

Utah also improved its defense through the portal, bringing in EDGE rusher Paul Fitzgerald, safety Alaka'i Gilman, and cornerback Cameron Calhoun. After finishing 20th in points allowed per game last season, the Utes could boast the best defense in the conference this season. That defense was certainly on display in week one as well, as the Utes held Southern Utah scoreless in week one.

Kansas State Wildcats: The Wildcats lost their long-time quarterback, Will Howard, to the portal, but their replacement, Avery Johnson, could be a breakout candidate at the position this season. When he saw the field last season, Johnson threw for five touchdowns and rushed for seven, as his legs will make the Wildcats offense a tough one to slow down this season.

Oklahoma State Cowboys: Led by arguably the best running back in the country, Ollie Gordon, and an experienced quarterback, Alan Bowman, the Cowboys will be one of the tougher offenses in the conference to stop. Defense is the biggest thing standing in the way of the Cowboys and a conference title. In 2023, the Cowboys allowed an average of 28.6 points per game, which was the tenth most in the conference. After picking up a win over South Dakota State in week one, the Cowboys will now host an Arkansas team that can certainly put up some points.
