Having depth off the bench is vital for all successful NBA teams. As we saw during the 2023-24 season, the Sixth Man of the Year, Naz Reid, played a vital part in getting the Timberwolves to the Western Conference Finals. While Reid might be a tough player to take the award from next season, you never know who could take the next step in their development.
Despite being the reigning award winner, Reid opened with the second-best odds to win 6MOY and has since fallen even further down the board. With that, we'll break down who is favored and the prices for all the other top bench players in the league.

Payton Pritchard (+170 to +180): After opening the season at (+10,000) to win this award, Payton Pritchard has shot his way up to the top of the odds board. In 15 games, Pritchard is averaging 15.3 points per game on a 42.3% three-point percentage. After going 1-10 from the field on opening night, Pritchard has finished in double figures in 11 games while shooting over 50% from three in seven of those games.
Buddy Hield (Golden State Warriors)(+450 to +550): In his first season as a member of the Warriors, Hield has been a massive piece of the team's impressive start. Through his 13 games, Hield is averaging 16.9 points, shooting 49.1% from the field and 46.2% from three. Hield has always been a lights-out shooter, but he has truly thrived in the Warriors offense.
Bennedict Mathurin (+700 to +900): If there is one thing about Mathurin, it is that he is a pure scorer, and it looks as if Indiana will be using that ability to lead their second unit. In the Pacers' first game of the season, Mathurin put up 19 points on 62.5% shooting from the field while also pulling down six rebounds. Mathurin is averaging 19.6 points per game through 14 games while shooting 53.6% from the field. In a recent contest against the Raptors, Mathurin came off the bench to score 28 points and pull in five rebounds in a loss.
