2024 Conn Smythe Trophy Winner - McDavid
After totaling 16 of a possible 17 first-place votes, Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid won the Conn Smythy Award, making him the sixth-ever player to get the trophy after losing the Stanley Cup finals. The last time this happened was in 2003 when Anaheim Ducks goalie Jean-Sebastien Giguere won the title despite losing to the New Jersey Devils in seven games.
Before this, the same happened with Ron Hextall (1987), Leach (1976), Glenn Hall (1968) and Roger Crozier (1966).
For 2024, the cup champions' skaters Aleksander Barkov (46 voting points) and Gustav Forsling (8 voting points) were the number two and three in the voting, far behind McDavid (83 voting points).
