2024-25 NFL Coach of the Year Odds

One of the futures markets that can provide the biggest payouts in the NFL doesnโ€™t involve players; instead, it is centered around coaches. This narrative-driven award typically sees a ton of movement on the odds board throughout the season and is not just handed to the coach with the most wins, which allows for some long-shot opportunities throughout the season.

The 2024-25 season should be no different, with multiple new head coaches joining or re-joining the league, including current favorite Jim Harbaugh. While the odds wonโ€™t start truly shifting until the season gets underway, NFL bettors can still dive into the current board.

Current Favorites

Jim Harbaugh (Los Angeles Chargers): Fresh off his first National Championship in college, Harbaugh is back in California to lead a Chargers team that has underperformed the last few seasons. Harbaugh won this award back in 2011 when he was coaching the 49ers, and he certainly has the narrative and track record to make him the favorite.

Harbaugh has already proven he can win in the NFL, and it certainly helps that he will be taking over a team with one of the league's best quarterbacks. If Harbaugh can help secure the Chargers' second trip to the postseason since 2018 while finding success against the Chiefs, he will likely remain near the top of the odds board all season.

Matt Eberflus (Chicago Bears): If you want to talk about narrative potential, Eberflus stacks up with the best. Whether it was analysts or fans, many people called for Eberflus to be fired early last season after an 0-4 start, but after turning things around towards the tail end of the year, he earned himself a third season.

Things did not work for Chicago with Justin Fields under center, but now Eberflus gets to coach the number one pick in the draft, Caleb Williams. With the Bears' defense already showing a lot of potential last season, if Eberflus can get this new and exciting offense on track, Chicago could have their best season since Mitch Trubisky took them to the postseason.

Raheem Morris (Atlanta Falcons): After two outstanding seasons as the Rams defensive coordinator, Morris is back in Atlanta to coach a Falcons team that is in a weaker division and has upgraded their offense in a significant way with Kirk Cousins.

Cousins only played eight games last season but still finished the season with more passing touchdowns than all of the Falcons' quarterbacks combined. With Morris taking over a promising young defense and Cousins leading the charge offensively, the second-time head coach could let the winning speak for itself when it comes to this award.
